Where is my FHA appraisal – we close in 9 days!?

We’re buying a house in Atlanta with an FHA 203k streamline loan and we have STILL not received our appraisal – and we close next Friday! We have to be out of our apartment that day, so we’re pretty durn nervous. Our loan is totally underwritten, we’ve done inspections, gotten repair estimates, etc. – just no appraisal yet. Our lender tells us that two appraisers turned down doing the appraisal for whatever reason and a third was paid to rush the appraisal. Well, the third appraiser supposedly went out about 6 days ago to appraise the property and we have heard NOTHING. The lender rep is in training until Friday and our agent can’t get any answer. Is this normal?
